Alleged Shooter Arrested Weeks After Long Island Incident

Weeks after shots rang out in a quiet Long Island neighborhood, police have made an arrest.

Shaunkim Abercrombie, age 34, was nabbed for the Manhasset incident, Nassau County Police announced on Monday, June 10.

His arrest comes one month after the Friday, May 10 shooting.

At about 6:40 p.m. that evening, officers responded to Pond Hill Road on a report of shots fired.

There, they found a dispensed shell casing on the ground. Shortly after, it was determined that the suspect was a man.

Abercrombie was charged with the following:

  • Attempted assault;

  • Criminal possession of a weapon; and

  • Reckless endangerment.

Additional information about the incident has not been released. 

He pleaded not guilty at Hempstead’s First District Court and is next due in court on Wednesday, June 12.
